Fredi Helton

My sister taught me to read when I was three and my love of words and writing started then. Reading was my first hobby and my first love.  I was one of four kids; we moved often as my Army officer father was assigned new duty stations.  I am very much an introvert and books became my refuge as I adjusted to new  environments. I was seldom without a book in my hands. 

I was a journalism major at Louisiana Tech.  I wanted to be a baseball writer and was the first female on the Tech Talk's sports staff.  Over the years, I’ve gone from reading other's works to editing other's words for edits to writing my own.  
 

As a certified copyeditor , my services include editing fiction, non-fiction, business and sales pieces.  In addition, I am available to  proofread, research and fact check and to write for copy for businesses and blogs.

My first children's storybook, It's Almost Christmas, is with the illustrator and my first book for early readers, The Seashell Fairies, is underway.
